Pablo Picasso Lithographs

In the mid 1900's, Picasso sought out lithograph medium and had such a respect for the craft and curiosity for the material that he became dedicated to creating masterpieces in the medium. "He looked, he listened, he did the opposite of what he had learnt- and it worked," Mourlot, the famous publisher and printer, once said of Picasso's skills with lithographs. It worked because he tried to understand from his very first time the real nature of lithography. His lithographs comprise a significant portion of his artistic oeuvre which comprises of over 20,000 works and serve as Picasso's enduring legacy. His graphic works in general are highly collectible as they are 61% of all of his works bought on the market and in 2012 sold for more than $40 million just in public sells, and one work Green Haired Woman (1949) sold for over $500,000 in 2003
