Keith Haring Pop Shop II

Keith Haring's 1988 portfolio Pop Shop II consists of four silkscreen prints featuring Haring's famous black-line figures in whimsical compositions. Haring created his second Pop Shop portfolio in 1988, named after his original "Pop Shop"  store that he opened in New York City in 1986. The Pop Shop was meant to make Haring's artwork even more accessible to the public, an initiative that the artist was passionate about throughout his career. The store sold everything from T-shirts and pins to posters with Haring's imagery on it. Haring opened the second Pop Shop store in 1987 in Tokyo, Japan. The name "Pop Shop" stems from the idea of "pop" culture, meaning easily recognizable figures, symbols, colors and idols that appealed to the masses. In his silkscreen print portfolios of the same name, Haring dives deeper into his development of a visual language. In Pop Shop II, Haring shows his signature black line figures in whimsical poses in a simple color palette of red, blue and yellow.

Keith Haring's Pop Shop II, 1988 is the artist's second Pop Shop portfolio. It features four silkscreen prints with his black line figures in bright colors.
