Lyrical Abstraction

Related to Abstract Expressionism, Lyrical Abstraction was a movement in the later 1960’s into the 1970’s in the United States that moved away from geometric abstraction, Minimalism, and Pop Art to a more free and expressive abstract painting. Full of painterly and sensuous brushstrokes, Lyrical Abstraction turns from hard, strict lines to a more free-flowing and processed-based art creation.
