Historical Description

Originally intended as an invitation card for the exhibition Miró in 1978, Sense Titol, 1978, colorfully and dramatically displays the name of the artist. The exhibition took place in Galeria Maeght, Barcelona, a gallery with a longstanding reputation of displaying iconic modern artists such as Miró. Rich hues of blue, green, red and yellow dominate the work, displaying Miró’s signature style. Black dots are sporadically speckled across the page, lending to an air of spontaneity and playfulness.

Created in 1978, this color lithograph on Arches Paper is hand-signed by Joan Miró (Barcelona, 1893 – Palma, 1983) in pencil in the lower right and Inscribed ‘E.A.’ (epreuve d’artiste) in pencil in the lower left, aside from the numbered edition of 27; printed by Litografías artisticas Damià Caus, Barcelona and published by Galería Maeght, Barcelona.
