Historical Description

Blue Paradise relays the movement and illusion associated with the artist's signature Agamographs. Even though serigraphy is a static medium, Agam still manages to infuse this work with dynamism by combining a Technicolor palette with rhythmic forms. Embedded within the vertical pull of the grid are small geometric shapes that blend into the all-over pattern of the work, creating a puzzle for the viewer to undo. Framed by a deep blue margin, the work becomes a window onto an optical world filled with visual interest.

Hand-signed by Yaacov Agam (Rishon LeZion, 1928 - ) in yellow at the lower right corner, this original color serigraph is numbered 30/180 in ink at the lower left.
