Historical Description

This plastic multiple tower is published by Edition Pyra AG, Switzerland with the silver plated plaque on the underside of the sculpture; title and edition no. 45/50 are hand written in black ink.  Hand signed by Victor Vasarely (1906 – 1997) in black ink on the face of one of the white, circle plastic tiles near the base.

According to publishers Editions Pyra AG – William Wise, “The Hungarian word, Iboya, meaning a small forest violet, has been chosen by Vasarely to identify his astonishing series of vertical sculptures for interior use.  The Iboya consist of Vasarely polystyrene Planetary Folklore color unities, permantnetly fixed on a structure of wood, weighted with lead to insure stability” (8).
