Mr. Brainwash’s Mixed Wall, 2021 is a conglomerate of many iconic visual images. On the left is an image of a girl with a red heart-shaped balloon, which originated from Banksy’s street art. Her arm is outstretched toward the balloon, which is drifting away toward the center of the image, with the words “follow your dreams” above her. At the center of the image is a heart-warming image of two boys, hand in hand, one leaning down to speak to the other. One boy is holding a can of red paint and the other is holding a paintbrush, the words I LOVE YOU stenciled in red above them. To their right is an image of  a boy taking a photograph, his camera pointing toward the viewer, and the word SMILE stenciled above his head. These four youthful figures are black and white against a graffiti-style background, full of a rainbow of bright colors and co-opted visual motifs, such as Basquiat’s crown, one of Keith Haring’s figures, and Mr. Brainwash’s own altered Campbell’s soup can spray paint bottles. The incorporation of Mickey Mouse and Captain America at the bottom of the image maintains the youthful tone in tandem with the energetic color choices. This kind of combination and recombination of motifs is what makes Mr. Brainwash a leading figure, and Mixed Wall, 2021 is a particularly powerful image of childhood camaraderie. 

Created in 2021, this work is hand signed by Mr. Brainwash (Garges-lès-Gonesse 1966 -) in ink in the middle right. This is a unique and original silkscreen and mixed media on paper.
