This beautiful glass sculpture can be seen as a self-portrait of Marc Chagall, immortalized in a brilliant lapis-lazuli glass. The work has been eloquently hand-carved and sculpted with multiple pieces and layers to create an expressive and whimsical image of himself. The charming white tuft of hair and eyes echo a similar hazy white, while the bridge of his nose, ease, and lips are formed out of the same blue glass. The neck area fades into a crystal clear region, while widening out for the base in a more foggy, undulating glass.
