This charming and whimsical work is the perfect example of Chagall's well-known and iconic style in color lithography. Created during the latter years of his life, L'Aurore is a testament to his lifetime of bouquets, roosters, and blue skies which have been so eloquently translated in his œuvre. The bright blues, reds, and yellows complement each other so perfectly, the composition radiates an inherent balance and harmony, further echoed by the dual profile of our main character. Signifying wealth, virility, and prosperity, the red rooster helps instill a sense of optimism and fortune.
