Miró's ability to convey varied textures within the lithographic medium shines through in this lively and vibrant print. Central to the image, a bold black 'M' anchors the composition, perhaps representing Miró's own initial. These black lines rise and fall in a manner reminiscent of fire while, in the background, bright red splatters mimic the feel of flames, jumping out towards us. The title Fire Dance is extremely fitting; we feel as though we are witnessing the dancing flames of a fire, creating a sense of animation and energy within this masterful work.

Created in 1963, this work is numbered from the edition of 90 in pencil in the lower left and hand signed by Joan Miró (Barcelona, 1893 - Palma, 1983) in pencil in the lower right. This work was published and printed by Maeght.
