Created in 1966, this felt banner in color was co-published by the Betsy Ross Flag and Banner Co., Inc. and Multiples, Inc., New York. This piece is stamp signed 'Andy Warhol' numbered from the edition of 20 on the label on the reverse.
The Campbell's Tomato Soup Can is perhaps one of Warhol's most iconic and infamous images of all time. This large felt banner is stunning both in size and color, immediately commanding the attention of a room. Warhol utilizes vibrant hues of pink, orange, blue and yellow to convey this soup can rather than the usual red and white, adding a slight twist to the typical depiction of this mass consumer product. However, no amount of detail is lost through the felt medium; Warhol ensures that the design remains true to form, including every detail such as the Campbell's seal in the center.
