Historical Description

This majestic ceramic features an animated centaur gracefully elevated on Pablo Picasso ceramic Centaur, 1956 A.R. 338a radiant white dish. Frolicking in the center of this white dish, a centaur rears up and almost appears to wave out at us with glee. Instilled with a sense of animation and liveliness, this is a truly eye catching and enchanting work. Position around the central centaur figure is an elementary relief patter, directing the eye towards the illuminating character inside. The lines are animated, bringing a pointed life to the plate. Picasso’s effortless design evokes a playful theme demonstrating the extraordinary skills this modern master possessed.
