Pablo Picasso Service Visage Noir (Black Face Service), 1948 is an adorable and simple dish. Picasso renders this ceramic with a playful hand; the face has two cute little horns and rosy cheeks flushed with a red tinted shade. Surrounded by lush green circles this work is surely one that will impress. It showcases a modest yet unique aspect to Picasso’s imagination. The flow of his lines and circular compositions allow for one to feel elation and peace all at the same time. Unlike many of Picasso’s convoluted examples of art, this piece edifies him as a master inventor and skillful craftsman in all forms of design. There is an aspect of symmetry within the composition. Especially in the area of its facial features, we see a set of eyes, a nose, and accompanying lines to frame the face. Very likeable and suitable for any kind of environment, anybody can appreciate this gorgeously rendered masterpiece.
