Pablo Picasso Man's Head with Long Hair, 1968-1969

With facial hair resembling pine needles and piercing blue eyes, this mysterious fellow is certainly captivating. Decorated in warm and lively colors, its visual radiance attracts the viewer in. His pursed lips and inquisitive expression leaves the viewer entranced by his gaze, lost in wonderment as to what thoughts circulate behind such an unusual head.

Created in 1968-1969, this square plaque of red earthenware clay with engobe ground, engraving enhanced with oxides under partial brushed glaze (white, green, 2 blues, and yellow.) is from the numbered edition of 100. This work is inscribed 'Edition Picasso Exemplaire Editeur Madoura J.111' on the reverse, with inscribed stamps 'Edition Picasso' and 'Madoura Plein Feu.'
