Soft, romantic pastel hues decorate this glistening white earthenware clay plate. The central image, reminiscent of a succulent or cactus, anchors the composition, while flowery strokes adorn the border in blue and yellow. Though this work brings to mind imagery of succulents, the abstract design encourages each individual to see something new and unique within this remarkable ceramic.

Created in 1948, this white earthenware clay plate with decoration in engobes and oxides under glaze bears the publisher's stamp on the underside: 'Madoura plein feu." In our opinion, this work is a unique color variant (aside from the planned edition of 100).
