Displayed in a robust silhouette, the musculature and mass of the bull is represented by the rounded forms of the back and legs. The addition of dots around the rim adds a sense of vitality and energy to the work.

Created in 1952, this turned round ash-tray of white earthenware clay with oxidized paraffin decoration is part of a series of six works. From the edition of 500, this ceramic features the inscribed stamps: 'MADOURA PLEIN FEU' and 'EMPREINTE ORIGINALE DE PICASSO' on verso.
