A charming and emblematic Maurice de Vlaminck piece, this stunning landscape depicts a village scene in vivid hues of blue, green and brow. Known for his expressive brushwork and landscapes, Vlaminck depicts this seemingly quaint environment with character and intrigue. Peaked roof houses are surrounded by emerald hues of the forest. This unique original watercolor with pen and ink on paper is hand signed by Maurice de Vlaminck (Paris, 1876- Rueil-la-Gadeliere, 1958) in black in the lower left of the image. This work will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné being prepared by Maïthé Vallè-Bled and Codeliève de Vlaminck under the sponsorship of the Wildenstein Institute.
