Historical Description

Movement flutters across the page as the two forms appear to be dancing. With a gorgeous blue background, the black strokes of the figures stand out, while a red spot further draws the viewer's attention in. Appearing as if done by crayon, the seemingly layered texture of the work gives off a child-like playfulness and vibrancy that adds to the joyful emotional state one feels when looking at it.

Part of the series Le Lézard aux plumes d'or, this lithograph is one of eighteen from the series that was created by Miró to accompany his poem of the same title. Created in 1971, this work is hand signed in pencil by Joan Miró (Barcelona, 1893 - Palma, 1983) in the bottom right margin and numbered from the edition of 50 in pencil in the lower left margin, aside from 30 proofs on parchment.
