Historical Description

A lush green dreamscape unfolds before the viewer in this Miró etching. Subdued yellow and green spots decorate the print, forming an image that appears like constellations against the night sky. The varied green texture in the background resembles a mossy forest floor. Viewers can easily imagine laying on the soft ground whilst gazing up at the stars.Like many of other Miró’s works, this piece full of imagination and openness.

Created in 1970, this color etching and aquatint on wove paper was published by Maeght, Paris. This work is hand signed by Joan Miró (Barcelona, 1893 - Palma, 1983) in pencil in the lower right margin and numbered from the edition of 35 in pencil in the lower left margin.
