Historical Description

A bright red heart stands out against a gorgeous blue background while a mountain of green rests below it. A work full of stunning texture and dimensions, A Heart on the Rue de Grenelle, stands out in Dine’s oeuvre as a work of unique taste. The location must hold a special meaning for him and his wife Nancy, as every heart he creates is a touching symbol of their love.

Created in 1981 this etching and aquatint with hand-painted polymer is hand-signed by Jim Dine (Ohio, 1935 –) on the verso.  Numbered from the edition of 36 also on the verso, there are 6 Artist’s Proofs and 4 Printers Proofs that exist.
