DISCUSSION:
Created in c. 1970, Red Nose is hand signed by Alexander Calder (1898 - 1976)
in pencil in the lower right. It is also numbered 38/75 in pencil in the lower
center.
The grand scale and whimsical color combinations are what makes Red Nose incredibly eye-catching and stunning - only to be appreciated in person. Its vast array of swirls, spirals, and lines with alternating colors of black and white, are interrupted by a bright, bold "nose" in a deep hue of red-orange. This vast composition is further appreciated once it is viewed from afar, as a playful face with a grinning smile is revealed almost at once. This is a testament to Calder's truly lighthearted and iconic style of printmaking - surely a must-have work to any Calder collection.

documented and referenced in (copies will be enclosed as added documentation
with the invoices that I will enclose with the sale of the work):

ABOUT THE FRAMING:
Conservation framed with archival materials, this work is set in a modern, black
and gold frame. The minimalist contemporary style of the moulding compliments
the bold lines and color within this work. The gold and black tones of the framing
also serve to enhance the contrast and vibrancy of the colors in this piece.
Completed with white, linen-wrapped mats and a matching gold inner fillet, this
work is set behind an archival Plexiglas cover.
