Historical Description

Victor Vasarely Caribe Negativ, 1967 serves as the darker complement to Caribe's white counterpart. Caribe negative is predominantly painted in black, with a cross of diamonds, triangles, and circles in a bright white. Alternating relief patterns throughout the nine various tiles are encompassed in a deep purple border with a darker, navy blue trim.

Created in 1967, this hand painted wood relief is hand signed by Victor Vasarely (Pécs, 1906 - Paris, 1997) in blue ink on the Éditions Denise René label adhered to the reverse. Numbered 42/50 on the label; from the total edition of 50 published in 1967.
